Join us for 'Blossoming with WINGS,' our Spring Fundraiser, on April 19, 2024, at 6 PM in the Lagoon Room/Foster City Recreation Center, located at 650 Shell Blvd. This fundraiser is dedicated to supporting our amazing staff, and your support is crucial in ensuring the success of our mission to enrich the lives of individuals with moderate to severe autism and similar challenges. We have proven time and again that autism doesn’t have to be a barrier to living a full life. Our 'Blossoming with WINGS' Spring Fundraiser will feature catered comfort food, great wine and beer, an incredible DJ, and special surprises. Additionally, we will be selling fabulous art created by our students to support various programs and services.

We're seeking a dedicated teacher to design and implement individualized education programs for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with Education Specialists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, and our administrative support team. Responsibilities include evaluating student progress, preparing reports, Individual Education Plans, Behavior Support Plans, Individual Transition Plans, and completing SCIA packets. Additionally, you'll provide supervision to Senior Instructional Assistants and Instructional Assistants. If you're passionate about making a difference in the lives of students, apply today!

This month, we highlight Mike's class, led by Michael Simon, an experienced educator. Michael, a graduate of Notre Dame de Namur University and Goucher College, has a background in psychology and music. With three years at WINGS and prior roles at Borel Middle School and as an ABA therapist, he brings a dynamic approach to teaching. Joining him are instructional assistants Ariana Sotto, Alexis Mercado, Jasmine Hull, and Felicity Troncau, who collectively boast years of dedication to our students' growth. Together, they form a supportive team committed to nurturing our students' potential and fostering a positive learning environment. We extend our appreciation to Michael and his team for their dedication and contributions to our community.

This month, we also highlight Sherry's class, led by Sherry Feurtado, M.A., BCBA, an experienced educator specializing in working with children and adolescents with ASD. Sherry, who joined the WINGS team in 2015, holds a teaching credential and a master's degree in special education from Notre Dame de Namur University. Alongside Sherry are Mario Ruiz, an instructional assistant with 6 months of experience at WINGS, Susie Rosales, a senior instructional assistant with 10 years of service, and Mikayla Campos, who joined the team 2 months ago. Together, they create a supportive and nurturing environment where students can thrive academically and personally.
